Don’t get me started on the weather in Scotland right now, one minute its torrential rain and thunder and then its sunny and breezy. Unfortunately the rain comes more often than the sun does!
There are many things about the Chinese culture that irk me when it comes to equality. My mum told me specifically to change from my strappy top to a t-shirt with sleeves because my gran said that’s what prostitutes wear. There is a possibility that things were lost in translation but my mothers English is not all that awful and my granny has a bit of a potty mouth. I would never intentionally piss ma granny off by revealing my shoulders, even if I wanted to make a point I could never verbally anyways, because there is a slight communication barrier. I think now that I’m older I understand that it is important to respect a culture but little things like this are going to have to change in order for woman to be treated equally and fairly. Even if I wore a see-through boob tube, no woman should be instantly labelled a prostitute. Brazen and bonkers, aye probably, its just like wearing trousers would make me a boy.

I was easily scared as a child ok!!! Also, I don’t go into this in the comic but because of my mums bad English and weird explanation, she described it as the Ghosts going INTO you…or something like that, which made it scarier.

Seriously, here is a picture of the text!!!

I assure you though, if you can get past the Engrish, the cake is scrumptious!

When I was storyboarding this comic, I was talking to mum about it and she told me a cracker of a story about a my gran and a prostitute. It doesn’t really paint her in a great light so I’m not sure if I’ll ever tell it.

My first ever web comic and the start of a brand new blog! I have been collecting little story ideas for a while, particularly silly things that happened with my multicultural upbringing. The webcomic format seemed fitting for this idea and the animator in me wanted to add some animated elements into each panel. I’ve written a few of these for fun and I plan on posting them over the next few Sundays, so please follow and reblog so I can make more!
