Hello, I'm CK (Sze Kei), I'm an aspiring animator based in Scotland, artist, incredibly geekish over all things Whedonesque, Doctor Who, Sherlock, superheroes and sci-fi, loves dance and music and is generally one big happy bunny!

Still trying to figure out this blog so for now I hope you enjoy what I'm sharing!

GREAT week for music, I’m obsessed with most of my choices this week.  No major mainstream pop songs - nothing too unusual but all incredibly fun (except the Prometheus)

This weeks choices:

Ideal Type by Busker Busker

One of my favourite new bands from Korea and this video is awesome!  I will sure as hell be learning this brilliant and stupid dance!

Hard to be humble by Leessang

Ridiculous and adorable video! Try and watch the hole thing to catch the wee boys slapping the bold man and the bums!

Last month, I was really hating a lot of current and mainstream music, but it seems summer is finally here and the music is shaping up to be a good one!

This weeks choices:

Big Bang’s latest single Monster is not really my cup of tea - I swear I do love a lot of kpop, it’s just very coincidental that a lot of the songs out recently are not the bands and songs I like.  My favourite songs from this incredibly popular boy band would have to be Bad Boy and Blue.  One of the things I admire most about this band is each members individuality within the group - they each have unique voices, personalities and different images but still mesh well together.

Like This by Wonder Girls is a fun summer dance number.  Once again, I’ve never really been a fan of Wonder Girls, I loved their recent hit Be My Baby and Like This is very catchy and a great song fitting for the summer!

I still haven’t quite worked out the format of Music Mondays, it might take a few weeks for me to find my feet but for now enjoy the music!

Another blah boyband from Korea.  Their popularity is insane though, it’s at that point where I have to be careful with what I say online otherwise I’ll be attacked by all sorts of hostile fans.  Infinite is the result of the typical kpop boyband formula = pretty boys + catchy cheesy tunes + impressive dancing

My displeasure with the current pop chart in West, seems to be the same with the pop music produced in the East.  This to me is a very typical Super Junior song - pretty boys pulling sexy faces singing a mediocre pop song that doesn’t really show off their voices, baring in mind there is like 10 of them (it’s hard to keep track).

Got a few kicks out of this very simple music video. So good to know that even in amongst the overwhelming kpop industry there is a some awesome indie music.  I love indie rock!
